Where we use Kopia​

Kopia is especially well suited when backups should land directly in S3-compatible object storage – whether self-hosted with RustFS or with an external provider like Hetzner or AWS:

• Setups where snapshots need to be quickly searchable and individually restorable

Kopia or BorgBackup?​

Both tools cover a similar need: deduplicated, encrypted backups outside of Kubernetes. BorgBackup is well established and works the classic way over SSH against a central repo, while Kopia brings native cloud storage integration and centralized policy management for multiple source systems.
